Beruflich setze ich mich als “Teamleader Digital Marketing” bei Swissinfo (der zehnsprachige Online-Dienst der SRG) dafür ein, dass qualitativ hochwertiger Journalismus Verbreitung findet. Meine Interessen drehen sich um Technologie, insbesondere Apple, Fotografie oder generell dem multimedialen Festhalten und Verbreiten von Inhalten. Aktuell verbringe ich zudem (zu) viel Zeit damit, Schachpartien zu analysieren.

Ich mag meinen Schreibtisch schlicht und aufgeräumt. Dazu passen einfache Hintergrundbilder mit wenig Ablenkung. In meinen persönlichen Fotos sind die nicht so einfach zu finden, kommen aber vor, wie dieses Bild des Bananenblatts aus Fuerteventura. Ein für mich emotionales Bild, welches mich an meine Ferien und eine unvergessliche Zeit erinnert. Es ist daher seit Jahren eines meiner liebsten Hintergrundbilder für Desktop oder Telefon.
Wer es weniger persönlich braucht, ist mit Unsplash bestens bedient.

Vor 13 Jahren, kurz vor einer mehrjährigen Weltreise schrieb ich meinen ersten Blogpost. Das Setup mit WordPress war relativ einfach, aber zeitaufwendig. Zwei Jahre später gehörte mein Blog zu den grössten Weltreiseblogs der Schweiz und des gesamten deutschsprachigen Raums. Ich habe viel gelernt von Newslettern, SEO bis Influencermarketing1.
Seitdem ist viel Zeit vergangen. Meine Interessen haben sich verändert, und der Blog existiert längst nicht mehr.
Warum ein neues Blog?
Zeit ist kostbar, insbesondere mit einer jungen Familie. Tagsüber arbeite ich am Bildschirm und abends habe ich oft wenig Lust, die Zeit davor zu verlängern. Das Publizieren ist allerdings ein Hobby geblieben. Seit 2017 nehme ich regelmässig mit meiner Partnerin Jo einen Podcast auf. Hie und da habe ich trotzdem doch noch mehr zu erzählen.
Wohin geht diesmal die Reise?
Wir werden sehen. Diesmal geht es nicht um SEO und Affiliate-Links, es gibt kein Tracking auf der Seite, ich sammle keine Nutzungsdaten und interessiere mich nicht dafür. Ich schreibe, was mich interessiert, was mir Spass macht, was ich toll und interessant finde. Ein kleiner, unkomplizierter Ort für meine Gedanken. Wenn du Freude daran hast, mitzulesen, freut mich das natürlich trotzdem sehr.
Kostenlose Gadgets, bezahlte Reisen und Hotels waren im ersten Moment toll. Verlust von Authentizität, Unabhängigkeit und insbesondere die Rivalität mit einzelnen anderen Reiseblogger:innen holten mich rasch in die Realität zurück.
